Olivea's Mission for Heart-Protective Olive Oil

In the terraced groves of Messinia, Greece, the harvest begins while most of the world is still asleep. Workers hand-pick Koroneiki olives while they’re still green and firm—yielding far less oil than later harvests, but routinely delivering 900–1,400 mg/kg of total polyphenols. This is the oil that became Olivea.

A Sudden Loss and a New Mission

In 2021, Sabrina Avila lost her father to a sudden heart attack at age 56. With no warning signs, she immersed herself in the research on preventable cardiovascular risk. What stood out again and again was the power of high-phenolic extra-virgin olive oil and its starring compound, hydroxytyrosol. Large studies showed 18–30 % reductions in heart events and stroke among consistent users—but only when the oil was exceptionally rich in polyphenols and consumed daily.

Sabrina partnered with Konstantopoulos S.A. “Olymp,” a 60-year-old Greek cooperative representing 5,000 farmers. Every batch is early-harvest, cold-pressed within hours, nitrogen-flushed, and third-party tested via HPLC.

What the Science Says

  • ≥5 mg hydroxytyrosol daily protects blood lipids from oxidation. Olivea oils routinely deliver 15–30 mg per 20 ml serving.
  • PREDIMED trial (7,000+ participants): 30 % lower major cardiovascular events with high-phenolic EVOO.
  • Nurses’ Health Study & Health Professionals Follow-up (92,000+ adults, 28 years): highest olive-oil consumers had 18–26 % lower cardiovascular mortality.
  • 2023 randomized trial in coronary patients: hydroxytyrosol-rich oil significantly improved endothelial function vs regular EVOO.

Advisors including board-certified cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn and University of Florida aging researcher Dr. Stephen Anton reinforce the clinical relevance.

Two Oils, One Standard

  • Premium Organic EVOO – 600+ mg/kg polyphenols, smooth and versatile for everyday cooking and finishing.
  • Ultra High Phenolic EVOO – 900–1,400 mg/kg, bold and peppery, designed for therapeutic “shots” or drizzling.

Both ship in dark glass with published lab reports so buyers know exactly what they’re getting.
